It’s Not Over Until It’s Over

Six minutes and ten seconds.

I seriously did a six minute and ten second wall sit at our final testing on Tuesday (insert small victory dance here)! I have to tell you that I’m pretty proud of myself. In addition to that wall sit, I bettered my scores in every test from the first day at Body-N-Motion by leaps and bounds. Although I’ve not accomplished all of my healthy living goals, I definitely have made significant improvements.

I’m so thankful to my teammates here at the office for inspiring me to keep working hard even when I didn’t want to and for keeping me honest when I really wanted to grab some peanut M&Ms out of the vending machine. I am also thankful for everyone at Body-N-Motion for making our three-month challenge an awesome learning experience that was informational, exciting, inspiring and a whole lot of fun.

I owe our trainer Justine more thanks than I even know what to do with! Without her, I definitely wouldn’t have pushed myself as hard when I was in the gym or outside of it. Thanks Justine for sticking with me through it all, even when I was muttering horrible things like “I hate you!” You are a great trainer and will be a great teacher someday. Your patience and persistence will continue to inspire me.

Turns out there is no easy fix to the weight loss problem and definitely no short cuts to a healthier lifestyle. I guess deep down, I knew that when we started this challenge. This whole “healthy” thing is a lifestyle, and the fun thing about lifestyles is they are life long commitments. Although I have improved my leaps and bounds, my work is FAR from done. I have a significant amount of work to do still to reach my initial goals.

So — drum roll please — I will continuE to blog about my journey in the coming months. The catch is that without my twice a week sessions at Body-N-Motion and the routine of working out with my coworkers, I’m going to need all the support I can get. My blog will begin appearing on Mondays, so please be sure to tune in and participate. I’m going to need feedback to keep up this journey, and I’m entrusting that job to all of our loyal readers!
